England complete series win against Sri Lanka

England's 190-run victory at Lord's on day four secured them a 2-0 series lead with only one match left to play. Joe Root was the star of the show and his twin centuries took him level with, and then ahead of, Sir Alistair Cook as England's leading century-maker.

Gus Atkinson found his way onto the honours board for the second Lord's Test in a row. On this occasion, it was for both batting and bowling following contributions of 118 with the bat and 5-62 with the ball.

The lack of crowd on the fourth day was noticeable and provided a major talking point regarding ticket prices with £95 being the cheapest adult ticket available. This was later reduced for entries after the tea interval but is something that will need to be looked at by MCC for future Tests.

In Brief

Surrey maintain their spot at the top of the Vitality County Championship following a drawn match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge. Somerset sit second in the table on 169 points.

Central Sparks have loaned their captain Eve Jones to Thunder until the end of the season. This gives a strong indication that Jones will sign for Lancashire and not Warwickshire ahead of the 2025 revamped women's domestic structure.

Despite not picking up a contract in The Hundred, Jafer Chohan has been selected by Sydney Sixers in the BBL14 draft. Chohan, who represents Yorkshire, took 17 wickets at 15.52 in the recent Vitality Blast season.
