Mumbai Indians claim second WPL title
Mumbai Indians returned to the scene of their first WPL triumph in 2023 and followed it with their second in 2025. Once again, the opponent was Delhi Capitals; a side that has now finished second in each of the first three tournaments.
Nat Sciver-Brunt was the star of the show with 523 runs across ten innings - 151 runs more than second-place Ellyse Perry. She also contributed 12 wickets in support of Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews who finished with 18 apiece.
The margin of victory over Delhi Capitals was just eight runs as the Capitals finished on 141/9 in pursuit of a target of 150. Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored for MI with a 44-ball 66; an innings that was particularly impressive after a slow start and some excellent new ball bowling from Marizanne Kapp and Shikha Pandey. Kapp took 2-11 from her four overs and completed the allocation in one spell. Sciver-Brunt, who saw the game out by bowling the 18th and 20th overs, finished with 3-30 from her allotted four.
